The main event of the day was the singles quarterfinals, played as best-of-fives. Paddy Chapman showed impressive focus and control and was nearly error-free in dispatching the ever-entertaining James Death 3-1. Samir Patel was nearly as impressive in a 3-1 win over top seed Reg Bamford. David Maugham overcame a 0-1 deficit to Jamie Burch for another 3-1 win, and Ben Rothman beat the current world champion, Stephen Mulliner, 3-0. This was the most error-prone match of the quarterfinals, as both players struggled to adapt to the slower pace of lawn 1.

The doubles semi-finals resumed late in the afternoon, both finishing just before 8:30. Maugham and Chapman, trailing a game to Jeff Soo and Brian Cumming, prevailed 2-1, while James Death and Patel were 2-0 winners over Dave Kibble and Alison Girdlestone.
