US AC Nationals Final Four

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA -- The USCA National Association Rules Championship has narrowed down to Stuart Lawrence, Doug Grimsley, Brian Cumming and David Maloof. The quarterfinal action had Stuart Lawrence over Mike Todorovich 26tp-0, 26-18. Doug Grimsley took out Jim Hanks 26-0, 26tp-10. Brian Cumming worked past Paul Bennett 26tp-9, 0-26tp, 26-23, while David Maloof beat Sherif Abdelwahab 26tp-0, 26-18.

With the event wrapping up tomorrow, the assumption is that the semifinals will be held today with Lawrence facing off against Grimsley and Cumming taking on Maloof.

There were a couple of surprises in the event as Jeff Soo failed to make it into the playoff from Block A, and Jim Bast had the same issue working in Block B.

In first flight, the quarterfinals shape up like this:

Steve Mossbrook (6-0, +90, A) vs Bob Morford (4-2, -19, B)
Mary Rodeberg (4-2, +26, A) vs Stephen Baker (4-2, +25, B)
Russ Dilley (5-1, +53, A) vs Donna Dixon (4-2, -2, B)
Cameron Evans (2-4, -30, A) vs Christophe Bergen (5-1, +67, B)
(Block Record, Net, Block Name)
