USCA Seniors/Masters Event Gears Up

 

The 23rd USCA Seniors/Masters Croquet Championships will be held on the lawns at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida on November 13-17, 2012.  Fifty-four players from throughout the United States and Canada are expected to compete in three flights of both singles and doubles on the Center’s courts. This American Rules tournament will consist of separate flights for Seniors age 60 - 69 and Masters 70+ in Championship and First Flight singles.  There will be combined Seniors and Masters flights for both Championship and First Flight doubles and a combined Seniors and Masters Second Flight for singles and doubles.

 

Last year’s Seniors Championship winner Dick Sullivan of Louisville, Kentucky as well as First Flight winner Bill Hartmann, Newland, North Carolina will vie for their titles again. Three-time Masters Singles Champion Fred Jones from Venice, Florida will also defend his title. The 2011 Championship Doubles Runners-up Peter Just, Lake Worth, Florida and Stuart Jackson, West Palm Beach, Florida will be the doubles team to beat.  Alan Cottle and Avril Rangoni-Machiavelli, both from Venice, Florida, will be defending their First Flight Doubles title. The 1999 USCA National Champion and local pro, John Osborn, will be the Tournament Director.
