Morning Coffee: USCA Grand Prix, 2011 Women's GC + Twitter

The 2009 USCA Grand Prix results are in and Croquet World has a fantastic article with photos breaking down the season. Ben Rothman took the overall Grand Prix title and also finished first in both the doubles and singles standings. Rothman's frequent doubles partner Doug Grimsley was second overall and second in doubles play. Following Rothman (18,570 singles points) in singles play -- 2. Danny Huneycutt (15,525) 3. Jeff Soo (13,800 ) 4. Doug Grimsley (11,810) 5. John C. Osborn (11,180).

The most interesting part of the Grand Prix croquet article for me is the description of Rothman's croquet nomad lifestyle. For a lot of older croquet player's locked into careers and mortgages, Rothman is living the dream. He's a great ambassador for the sport and Puma needs to give this guy a shoe contract or something right away.

The WCF announced dates and location for the 2011 Women's GC Championship. Toronto, Canada is the location and the event will take place June 18-25. The venue will be the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club. This will be the first WCF World Championship to be in held in Canada. (Full press release)
