Recorded at the recent US Open GC event held at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, 360-degree croquet matches are available for viewing courtesy of the North Toronto Croquet Club YouTube Channel. Above is a block match between eventual finalists Robert Fletcher and Mal Fletcher.
For the best viewing experience, watch on a computer in full-screen mode and select 4K resolution if it’s not set automatically. You control the perspective — look in any direction throughout the match. The score is displayed on the southern boundary for easy tracking.
The camera is mounted on a three-foot peg extension, capturing the entire lawn with dual lenses. This setup is WCF-approved, as the camera can be easily removed if necessary, just like a standard peg extension.
Automated recording presents an exciting opportunity for smaller clubs or events where traditional live-streaming equipment and personnel may not be available. This is just the beginning — the next steps include recording in 8K and exploring live-streaming capabilities. Stay tuned!
