Morning Coffee: WCF in Motion, Mohammad and Friends, Sandy Bob

The WCF has a few innovative proposals under consideration. The first is an over-50 golf croquet championship to be held in Cairo this coming October. The second is a brief mention of a women's association championship. There are few details on this possibility other than an initial vote that will send the proposal to the council for discussion. And the last mention is a request for exemption from standard WCF rules in order to hold an event in China that would not necessarily include all WCF members. This an interesting proposal in that selling the game to China would seem essential for the overall plan to move toward eligibility toward the world games. There is also the massive potential for explosive growth that the population in China offers.

"Sandy" Bob Van Tassell played a "perfect game" to win the Mission Hills Invitational Over Ben Rothman this past weekend in Rancho Mirage, CA. A full write-up on the final is available on Ben's CroquetPro website.

Danny Huneycutt continues to collect prize money. This weekend he took the Charles Steuber Singles title with a 26-24 win over John Osborn in the finals. The event had an overall purse of $3750. Full details are listed in the Croquet World Americas forum.
