Following a decisive 14-7 victory in the 2023 Solomon Trophy at the Sarasota County Croquet Club in Venice, Florida, Team USA is gearing up for a high-stakes showdown on Great Britain’s home territory this summer.
The final day of the 2025 PFC Mallets Golf Croquet WTC brought some weather and an early finish to the Openshaw Finals test as Team USA delivered the one win needed in their battle with Egypt in the first doubles match of the day. U.S. captain Ben Rothman and current GC World Champion Blake Fields paired up again to square off against Egypt’s Mohamed Nasr and Mohamed Taha. All went according to plan as Rothman and Fields picked up a 7-4 win in game one to get the day off on the right foot.
Team USA heads into the final day with a 6-0 test lead over Egypt and will be looking for one match win today to claim their first team croquet world championship. The action starts at approximately 4:00 p.m. Eastern time today at the Northern Tasmanian Croquet Centre in St. Leonards, Tasmania.
